The 5th Transnational Project Meeting of the “Together We Play: Volunteer Initiative” project, which is coordinated by the Turkish Special Olympics Sports Federation (TÖSSFED) and supported by the European Union Erasmus+ Program, was successfully held in Ankara between May 12-13, 2026.
The meeting brought together project partners from Türkiye, Bulgaria, Spain, and Serbia to evaluate the activities carried out throughout the project period. Partners reviewed the achievements and outputs developed since 2024 and exchanged ideas regarding the final implementation and reporting processes.
During the opening speech, it was emphasized that the project achieved significant outcomes in the fields of social inclusion, volunteering, and active citizenship. Increasing access to sports and arts activities for individuals with special needs and empowering young volunteers were highlighted as some of the project’s most important achievements.
Within the scope of the meeting, the outcomes of the meetings previously held in Ankara, Sofia, Barcelona, and Belgrade were reviewed. In addition, the “Volunteer Training Handbook” and the “DigiLAB E-Learning Platform,” developed as major project outputs, were presented in detail.
A live presentation of the DigiLAB Platform was also conducted for the partners. Detailed information was shared about the platform’s multilingual structure, user-friendly interface, training modules, video content, and certification system. Technical improvements made based on partner feedback during the testing phase were also introduced.
Another important part of the meeting focused on the Work Package Evaluation Sessions. Under WP1: Project Management, coordinated by TOSSFED, partners evaluated the quality standards, reporting procedures, and coordination activities implemented throughout the project. It was stated that the feedback collected from partners would contribute to the preparation of the final evaluation report.
At the end of the meeting, project partners emphasized that Together We Play is not only an Erasmus+ project, but also a strong example of international solidarity, inclusion, and sustainable cooperation.
The Turkish Special Athletes Sports Federation thanked all partners for their valuable contributions throughout the project and expressed their hope to meet again in future international collaborations.
